Funeral services for JT “Jake” Lee, 72, Hydro resident, will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, In the Hydro First Baptist Church, officiated by Daniel Mosburg. The burial will follow in the Hydro Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
JT Lee was born July 14, 1951, in Carnegie, OK to France C. Lee and Betty Gale (Hodge) and passed away early hours Sunday, March 24, 2024, in his Hydro home with his wife Lissa by his side. JT was raised mostly in Weatherford and Clinton and attended Arapaho Schools. He graduated from Arapaho High School in 1969. While in high school he excelled in sports and All-Stated in both basketball and baseball.
After high school he joined the US Army and spent time in Germany for at least one tour. After his Honorable discharge he returned to Clinton and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. He received a bachelor’s degree in education in 1979.
He married Lissa Sanders on June 12, 1976, in Clinton, Ok. They made their home in Arapaho for a short time before moving to Weatherford. He was employed at the Oklahoma Employment Office in Clinton for a few years. He moved to Custer City where he was employed with the Custer City Public Schools until its closing, and then he transferred to Thomas public Schools. He later moved to Hydro, OK and was employed with Hydro Public School until his retirement in 2006.
Jake loved fishing, playing softball, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his dad France Lee and his wife Linda, his mother Betty (Glenn) Arther, stepdads Eldon D. Glenn, and Arlie Arther, and his precious daughter Malissa Lee.
He is survived by his wife Lissa of the home, his daughter Karri Ann Redcay and her husband Clair of Corn, his son Ryan Lee and his wife Sabrina, of Weatherford, his stepson Richard Lyle Coit and his wife Heather, of Custer City, his sister Lela Farmer and her husband Rick, of Hydro, three brothers Ed Lee and his wife Katherine of Salina, Kansas, Troy Lee and his wife Toni, of Clinton, and Jack Lee and his wife Peggy, of Clinton, four grandchildren Jacob Lee and his wife Carlie, Andrew Lee, Jacie Talamanta and her husband Walker, and Brynlee Redcay, and his great grandson Jay Lee.
