Funeral Services for Jana Beth Howlingwolf, 51, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, September 18, 2023, in the Clinton Indian Baptist Church, officiated by Pastors Gerald Panana and Mona Bearshield. Burial will follow in the Clinton Indian Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
A tradition wake service will be held 7:00 till 9:00 PM, Sunday, September 17, 2023n, in the Clinton Indian Baptist Church.
Jana Beth Howlingwolf was born October 31, 1971, to Wesley Howlingwolf and Margaret (Hayes) Howlingwolf in Clinton, OK and passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, in the St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.
Miss Howlingwolf was raised in Arapaho, OK and graduated from Arapaho High School in 1989. She was a standout basketball player while in high school, her senior year she averaged 28 points per game. She received a basketball scholarship to Clendon, TX and later transferred to Seminole Jr. College in Seminole, OK. She later continued her education at the Frances Tuttle Vo-Tech School in Oklahoma City, OK working towards her nursing career.
She was employed with Indian Health Services in Oklahoma City as well as the Dean A. McGee Eye Institute.
She was a member of the Indian Baptist Church; she loved all sports and was a major fan of the Oklahoma Sooners Sports and the Blazers Hockey Team. She loved to watch television and had several favorite shows she watched.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her daughter, Demetra Howlingwolf, son, Trey Meely, Shawnee, OK, mother, Margaret Howlingwolf, Clinton, sisters, Rhonda Howlingwolf, Clinton, OK, Anita Spradlin, OKC, OK, Dena Howlingwolf, Clinton, OK, Shannon Littleman, Hammon, OK, Lillie Higgins, Hammon, OK, Bridget Higgins Hammon, OK, Mary Joe Higgins, Hammon, OK and brothers, Wesley Howlingwolf, Jr., Eufaula, OK, Byron Howlingwolf, of OK.
She is also survived by one grandchild, Kyler Meely, Shanee, OK and Aunt Irene Hayes, of Hammon, OK.
