Funeral Services for Betty Cabaniss, 93, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 Wednesday, April 20, 2022, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Pastor Daniel Mosburg. Burial will follow in the Cabaniss Family Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Betty Lou (Cobb) Cabaniss was born February 20, 1929, to Harvey Glen Cobb and Grace Evelyn (Dovel) Cobb in Gyp, OK and passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022, in Clinton, OK. Betty was raised and attended school in Arapaho, OK where she graduated as salutatorian of her class in 1946. She continued her education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford. She married Joe L. Cabaniss, Jr. on July 17, 1948, in Wheeler, TX. They have made their home northwest of Clinton. They produced and delivered eggs to many groceries and restaurants in the area. They also farmed, raised cattle and sheep which were sold all over the country. Betty worked alongside Joe, helping with day-to-day operations and management decisions. She was also a full-time mom to her 5 kids. She was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the 4-H Club. She loved her Hampshire Sheep and they showed them and sold them all over the country; she was an outstanding seamstress, she was an accomplished painter, she enjoyed working on her spinning wheel, knitting, crocheting and working on her computer. She also loved to bake and do photography. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe, grandson, Clay Cabaniss, great-granddaughter, Aubrie Owston, daughters in law, (Mrs. Riley) Pam Cabaniss and Terry Stratton, brother, Robert “Bobby” Cobb, three sisters, Barbara Coit, Marilyn Coit and Billie Shultz. She is survived by Susan Bradford, Duke, OK, and Mary Lou Scales, Clinton, OK, three sons, Norman Cabaniss, Riley Joe Cabaniss and Harve Cabaniss and wife, Karen, all of Clinton; sister, Linda McCush and husband, Gerald, of MO; brothers in law, Darrell Coit, Custer City, OK and Earl Shultz, MO. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
