Funeral Services for Darla Kinney, beloved wife, mother and Gaga 56, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 29, 2021 in the First Christian Church, officiated by Doyle Kinney and Jeff Johnson. Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Darla Dawn (Dupree) Kinney was born July 13, 1964 to Darrell and Marva Jean (Walker) Dupree in Clinton, OK and passed away Wednesday May 26, 2021 in the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, surround by her family. Darla was raised and attended school in Butler. Before graduating high school in 1982 she was active in school, she was an outstanding basketball player, softball player, active in Future Farmers of America and showed pigs, and was voted the FFA Sweetheart. She continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. She moved to Oklahoma City and attended Cosmetology School. She worked for T.W. Shears, The Hair Palace and in 2007 she established and operated Darla’s Painted Door until the present. She married Rodney Kinney September 20, 1986 in Clinton. They have made their home in Clinton since that time. She was active in her children’s school activities from primary school through college. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church and Jr. Service League. She loved to travel and spend time at her home away from home in the cabin at Red River, NM. Her passion was being GAGA and spending time with her three grandchildren, Ellie Jean and the twins, Claira and Elijah. She is preceded in death by her mother, Marva Dupree. She is survived by her husband, Rod Kinney, of the home, daughter, Kaitlyn Watkins and husband, Logan, Cashion, OK, son, Lane Kinney, Clinton, dad, Darrell Dupree, Butler and three brothers, Randy Dupree and wife, Vicki, Elk City, OK, Danny Dupree and wife, Canda, Clinton, OK and Ronnie Dupree, Clinton, OK. She is also survived by her Uncle Curtis Walker and wife, Judy, Butler and sister in law, Diana McClendon and husband, Mike, Clinton, OK and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Clinton Public School Foundation or The American cancer society.
