Darrell Gene Dupree

Funeral services for Darrell Gene Dupree, 80 of Butler, OK, former Custer County District 3 Commissioner, Rancher and Farmer, will be held Thursday November 11th, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Clinton Cumberland Presbyterian Church officiated by Reverend Dale Nease and Bowman Vowell. Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau Lee Funeral Home. The Family will greet guests from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday November 10th, 2021 in the Kiesau Lee Memorial Chapel. Darrell Gene Dupree was born February 5, 1941 to Isaac Anderson Dupree and Letha Elgbry (Roper) Dupree on the family farm north of Butler, OK, and passed away Sunday November 7th, 2021 in the Clinton Therapy and Living Center. Darrell and his parents moved to California when he was a young child, and returned to Butler in 1950. During his high school years he drove the school bus as a student, and graduated from Butler High School in 1959. He married his high school sweetheart, Marva Jean Walker on July 10th, 1958 in Sayre, OK. Together they started their farming career on the Dupree and Walker farms raising wheat, cotton, and livestock. In 1998 Darrell was elected as the Custer County District 3 Commissioner, and served in that capacity for 12 years. He also served on the Butler Coop Board, Butler School Board, and the Custer County Health Department Board, as well as, being a member of the Butler Baptist Church. Darrell enjoyed family time, watching ball games, attending livestock shows, boating, skiing, NASCAR, and playing cards. He enjoyed the mountains, and Red River, NM was one of his favorite places. Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Darla Kinney, brother James Dupree, and sister Nelta Evans. Darrell is survived by three sons, Randy and wife, Vicki, Butler, Danny and wife, Canda, Clinton, and Ronnie Dupree, Clinton; son in law Rod Kinney, Clinton; sister in law Janice Dupree, Clinton; two brothers in law, Curt Walker and wife, Judy, Butler, and Stanley Evans, Lahoma. Darrell is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Darren Dupree and wife, Sumer, Monte Dupree and wife, Angela, Devon Dupree and wife, Meredith, Misti Davis and husband, Joe, Addison Dupree, Austin Dupree and wife, Terra, Walker Dupree and wife, Kara, Warren Dupree and wife, Jenna, Kaitlyn Watkins and husband, Logan, Lane Kinney, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family. Memorial Donations may be made to the Butler Volunteer Fire Department.
