Bessie, Oklahoma

Eldon Gene Goeringer, a dedicated and beloved farmer known for his work with cattle, wheat, and hay, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, in Foss, Oklahoma. Born on November 27, 1943, in Clinton, Oklahoma, Eldon’s life was marked by his deep commitment to family, faith, and the land he so carefully tended.

Eldon was a graduate of Burns Flat High School, Class of 1962, in Burns Flat, Oklahoma, and furthered his education at Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. On September 6, 1968, he married the love of his life, Leta Sue Miller, in Lone Grove, Oklahoma. In the 50 years married, together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and shared values, creating a home filled with love, hard work, and lasting memories.

Eldon spent a short time teaching Diesel Mechanics at Vo Tech in Ardmore, Oklahoma before working at United Engines in Oklahoma City. When his father passed away, he moved his family to the family farm to continue the family tradition of farming in 1984. Farming was not simply a career for Eldon—it was a way of life. He spent countless hours caring for his cattle, working his wheat fields, and harvesting hay, finding purpose and fulfillment in the daily rhythms of farm life. He had a deep appreciation for the land and took pride in the work of his hands, embracing the responsibilities and rewards that came with a life devoted to agriculture.

His passion for farming extended beyond the fields. Eldon enjoyed reading farming magazines and staying informed about the industry he loved. He was also a thoughtful man who enjoyed taking time to reflect on life's experiences, blessings, and lessons. Whether working outdoors or studying the word of God, Eldon found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful.

Known for his steady faith, Eldon devoted time each day to Bible readings and daily devotional practices that nourished his spirit and guided his actions. His faith was evident not only in his words but also in the way he lived his life—with humility, kindness, and a willingness to serve others. He was deeply involved in his church community and took great pride in organizing and participating in church functions, fundraisers, and game nights. These gatherings reflected his generous heart and his enjoyment of spending time with others, building friendships, and strengthening his community.

Family was at the very heart of Eldon's life. No matter how busy the demands of the farm became, he treasured the moments spent with those he loved. Family gatherings brought him great joy, and he valued every opportunity to create memories, share stories, and strengthen the bonds that connected generations. He took pride in watching his family grow and found happiness in simply being surrounded by the people who meant the most to him.

Eldon was a loving husband to Leta Sue (Miller) Goeringer, who preceded him in death. He was also the devoted son of Ruben Elvin Ervin Goeringer and Edna Neoma (Weter) Goeringer, both of whom have passed on.

Eldon leaves behind a cherished legacy through his living family: his sisters, Donna Jantz and Patricia Garling; his children, Darrell Gene Goeringer and Sarah Ann (Goeringer) Baker; and his grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, and Susan Goeringer, along with Olivia and Luke Baker. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Jaxton Eugene Goeringer and Jayce Harvey Bartlet. Eldon’s son, Eugene Allen Goeringer, is remembered in loving memory.

Eldon Gene Goeringer will be remembered as a hardworking farmer, a faithful servant, and a devoted family man. His life reflected the enduring values of hard work, faith, perseverance, and love. Through the fields he tended, the friendships he nurtured, the faith he practiced, and the family he cherished, Eldon leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live in the hearts of those who were blessed to share in his life and journey.

As Eldon would say, “Have a blessed day!”
