A Mass for Christian burial for Geronima Amaya de Flores, 84,
Clinton resident will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday April 3,
2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic church, officiated by Father
Balaswamy Mandagiri. Burial will conclude in the Clinton
Cemetery under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. She
will be laid to rest next to her husband Hilario and close by her
son Andres.
A Rosary service will be held Tuesday April 2, 6:30pm in the
Kiesau-Lee Memorial Chapel.
Geronima Amaya was born October 26, 1939 to Bernardino
Amaya and Francisca Morales, in Animas Rodeo Durango,
Mexico. She went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2024 in her
home surrounded by family and friends.
Geronima was raised and educated in Mexico, on September 11,
1955 she married the love of her life Hilario Flores, where she
blessed him with a large family. There they tended to their land
and farm animals, with the help of the family. In January 1997
they immigrated to the United States and settled in Clinton with
all of their younger children in tow. The older children of the
two were already in the US. Geronima loved spending time with
her family, she loved cooking for them and having them be all
together, she was well known for her delicious tamales. She
loved tending to her garden, going on walks and spoiling her
grandchildren and then her great-grandchildren. She also loved
to listen to music and at times sing karaoke with those boys.
She had a big admiration for the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the
Catholic faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hilario, an
infant daughter Carolina Flores of 8 months and son Paulo
Flores at the age of three, son Andres Flores and wife Hilda
Lopez, Cenovio Flores and wife Angie Flores. Brothers and
sisters Rogelio, Jose Maria, Bernabe, Encarnacion, Alta Gracia,
Joaquin, Monica and Petra Amaya.
She is survived by siblings Espiridion, Nolberto, and Lupe
Amaya Morales and her children; Jose Lino Flores and wife
Aida, Maria Flores and husband Pedro Renteria, Narcizo "Chicho" Flores
and wife Aide, Manuela Flores and husband Ramon Romero,
Teresa Flores and spouse Salvador Martinez, Tomas Flores and
wife Rosa Delia, Ma. De La Cruz Flores and husband Juan
Renteria, Maria Guadalupe Flores and husband Alfonso
Martinez, Jesus “Chuy” Flores and wife Lucero, Hilario “Lalo”
Flores and wife Angelica, Cecilio “Chilo” Flores and wife
Diana. She is also survived by 39 Grand Children, 45
Great-GrandChildren and 7 Great-Great GrandChildren.
