Jason Douglas Turner, age 54, of Elk City, OK passed away May 3, 2026, surrounded by his family. Jason was born April 23, 1972, in Sayre, OK, to Dan and Tonia (Queenan) Turner.
Jason grew up on the wide-open plains of western Oklahoma, a place that shaped his steady kindness and deep love for others. After graduating high school, he pursued his passion for helping people at Oklahoma State University, earning his bachelor’s degree in psychology. He went on to serve his community at many places throughout the years including Mercy Hospital, Eskimo Joe’s (where he made many cherished friendships), and finally Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, where his humor and compassion touched countless lives.
Jason had a gentle heart for all living things. He cared deeply for people, animals, and especially children, but nothing brought him more joy than his beloved Rottweilers, Seth and Mila. He treasured every moment spent with his niece and nephews, who adored him for his playful attitude and loving spirit.
Music was another thread woven through Jason’s life. He found comfort and expression in guitars, often filling quiet moments with the riffs and songs he loved. He frequently spent some of his free time drawing funny comics, writing stories, and fake news articles that made the whole family laugh. He made many happy memories fly fishing with his father on family vacations and teasing his little sister and younger cousins.
Jason will be remembered for his generosity, his loyalty, and the way he made others feel seen and cared for. His presence leaves a lasting imprint on the many lives he brightened.
Jason is survived by his mother, Toni Turner; sister, Jordan Mosby; aunts, Sandra Wright, Sherry Johnson and husband Don, and Marilyn Turner; uncle, Doug Turner; niece, Bridgette Mosby; nephews, Joey Mosby and Gunner Mosby; and a host of cousins, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Dan Turner; Uncles, Mike Turner and Andrew Wright; Paternal Grandparents, Winnifred and Doyle Tuner; Maternal Grandparents; Wanda and Maurice Queenan and his beloved Rottweiler, Seth.
A memorial service is planned for 1:00 pm, Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Kiesau-Lee Chapel, located in Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, 2500 W Modelle Ave, Clinton, OK, with interment at Stafford Cemetery for the family.
Services are in the care of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
