Larry Dean Terrell

Funeral Servies for Larry Dean Terrell, 75, Custer City resident will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, March 25, 2024, in the Custer City First Chrisitan Church, officiated by Doyle Kinney and Jerry Yoder. The burial will follow in the Custer City Masonic Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.


The family will greet guests 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Sunday, March 24, 2024, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel


Larry Dean Terrell was born May 14, 1948, to Clarence Terrell and Helen (Preston) Terrell in Thomas, OK and passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in his Custer City home.


Larry was raised in Clinton until 6th grade year and then the family moved to Custer City, OK. He graduated from Custer City High School in 1969. While in high school he played basketball and continued to be a Panther supporter even after the school’s closing.


Soon after high school he began a 32 year career at the Custer City Coop where he was employed as an elevator-yard foreman until his 2002 retirement.


He was married to Judy Bowman on October 16, 1971, in Clinton, OK. They made Custer City their lifetime home and raised their family there. To this marriage two sons were born, Jeff and Larry Don.


He was an active member of the Custer City First Christian Church, he served on the Custer City Senior Citizens Board, and he loved music, playing the guitar, singing, dancing, and gardening. He loved the outdoors with fishing and coon hunting. His passion was spending time with his family.


He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy, his parents, three sisters, Margie Lou Terrell, Ellen Beth Terrell, Elaine Caler, two brothers, Leonard Terrell, and C. W. Terrell.


He is survived by his two sons, Jeffery Terrell and wife, Stacey, and Larry Don Terrell and wife, Latricia, both of Custer City, OK, three sisters, Diane Sheehan, Custer City, OK, Gay Lee Patterson, Clinton, OK and Mary Ann Terrell-Wood, Weatherford, OK, two brothers, Melvin Terrell and wife, Sharon, Custer City, OK and Jimmy Dale Terrell, Clinton, OK and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.


He is also survived by four grandchildren, Skyler Terrell, Custer, City, OK, Braden Terrell and wife, Kennedy, Merrit, OK, Liberty Terrell and Lincoln Terrell, of Custer City, Ok, three great-grandchildren, Blair Grace Terrell, Sedler Kate Terrell, and Merrick Lynn Terrell of Merritt, OK, and a special friend, Amber Capps, of Custer City, OK.


The family has requested those wanting to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Custer City Senior Citizens Center in Honor of Larry Terrell.
