Funeral Service for Larry Morris, 69, Arapaho resident will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, May 26, 2023, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Doyle Kinney. Burial will follow in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Larry Gene Morris was born October 23, 1953, to Harold Dean “H.D.” Morris and Zelma Elizabeth Thompson in Clinton, OK and passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, in his rural Arapaho home.
Larry was raised in the Barnitz Creek area, and he graduated from Arapaho High School in 1971 as class president. He was an outstanding baseball player while attending high school and was offered a baseball scholarship to Colorado State University. He chose to go straight to work and was employed with a Gas Pipeline Company for 40 years. The company changed names several times which started as Arkla Gas, Arkla Energy Resources, Noram, Reliant Energy, CenterPoint Energy, Enable Midstream and then he retired from Enable Midstream in March of 2015.
He was a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, he has served as president of the Arapaho Softball Booster Club, he planted the grass on the Arapaho Softball Field with his own grass and was a beloved coach to many graduated Arapaho softball and basketball players. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, raising chickens, and his grandchildren. He was an avid fan of Oklahoma University Sports, especially softball.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, infant Wesley Morris and Jerry Morris, sister-in-law, Nan Morris and brother-in-law, Terry Hunter.
He is survived by five daughters, Kim Brewer and husband, Patrick, Weatherford, OK, Lindsey Roberts and husband, Russell, Owasso, OK, Sarah Musick and husband, Josh, Weatherford, OK, Courtney Jones and husband, Randy, Clinton, OK, Randee Morris and partner, Thomas Vander Schans, OKC, OK, sister, Shirley Hunter, Clinton, OK and brother, Stan Morris, Foss, OK.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Madison Schwartz, Matthew Schwartz, McKenlie Schwartz, Bailey Brewer, Nadia Brewer, Peyton Miller, Adelynn Roberts, Collins Roberts, Brooklynn Morris, Branson Musick, Britton Musick, Wacey Jones, Watson Jones and 2 great grandchildren, Ayden Schwartz and Axyl Schwartz. And numerous nieces and nephews.
