Funeral Services for Ralph Edwards, 67, Putnam resident, will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, November 3, 2023, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Pastor David Beck and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
His cremains will be taken to Ohio and buried in the family plot.
Ralph Hunter Edwards was born September 16, 1956, to Philip and Anna Bell (Baier) Edwards in Middletown, OH and passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023, in his Putnam home.
Ralph was raised in Miamisburg, OH and graduated from Carlisle High School in 1975. While in high school he was an outstanding wrestler and still holds the record for the fastest pin.
He married June Hohnhorst in December 1975 in Miamisburg, OH and to this marriage two sons were born, Jeremy and Matthew.
He was employed with Jack Summers Tire Company and the Dayton Tire Company before he started truck driving. He then moved to Baton Rouge, LA where he was employed with Kodak Photography Company. He later moved to Charleston, SC, where he worked for Firestone Corporation and OK Tire, where he met and married Cynthia J. Burkhart (Alvis) on June 11, 1988 and to this marriage, daughter Tara was born.
They soon made their home in Western, OK settling in Putnam. He was employed with Goodyear Tire Company, K&S Tires, CTC, the Butler Coop, and most recently with 2D Trailer. He was a helping hand to all who asked. He enjoyed working with Max Parr, working horses for parades, such as the Oklahoma Centennial Parade in Guthrie.
He was a member of the Pentecostal Faith. He loved to fish and hunt, he loved nature and raised cows and horses. When it was still a legal sport, he was a professional cock fighter. He bred and raised many champions. His passion was spending time with his family, children, grandchildren and his numerous cousins that he was raised with.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Larry Edwards and Phil Edwards and a sister, Lynn Bolen.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia, of the home, daughter, Tara White and husband, Jerron, of Putnam, two sons, Matt Edwards, of OH and Jeremy Edwards and wife, Nora, of NC and the mother of his two sons, June, of SC, sister, Janet Rose, of OH and brother, Andrew Edwards, of KY.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, A.J. Edwards, Trinity Edwards, Elijah Collins, Elizabeth Edwards, Hunter Edwards, Layla Edwards, Joby Ogletree, Jaxon White, Joseph Ramirez and Christoper Ramirez and one great-grandchild, Winry Ramirez.
