Tracie Lynn Adams of Arapaho passed away on Tuesday, February 27th, at Clinton Regional Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
She was born February 15, 1965, the daughter of Kelsa Dean Adams & Lois Maxine (Shepherd) Adams. She was raised in Clinton, Oklahoma and attended Clinton public schools.
Some fun tidbits about Tracie are that she loved going to the lake and sunbathing for hours; the only football teams you’d find her cheering for were the OU Sooners and Clinton Red Tornadoes; she loved and spoiled her mischievous cat, Callie; and she was Wheel of Fortune’s biggest fan. (Wheel of Fortune was her favorite game show, and she was great at it!) Tracie’s quirky laugh and silly comments never failed to make those around her smile, making workdays seem shorter and meals with family and friends brighter. Speaking of meals, anyone who knew Tracie and was blessed to taste her delicious food would agree she is the best home cook around. She no doubt mastered the art of cooking over the years. (Good luck trying to think of something she couldn’t cook!) With homemade noodles, savory beef enchiladas, 7-layer casserole, or even mouthwatering rolls on the dinner menu, people would drool all the way to Tracie’s house, eager to stuff their bellies.
Tracie absolutely loved her family and friends. Framed photographs of loved ones—including many of her son Kelsa Derek, of whom she was so proud—filled her home. A walk down one hallway was truly a walk down memory lane. Besides photographs, many fond memories filled Tracie’s home, even in her final days.
Tracie was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Cindy Lundy.
She is survived by her son Kelsa Derek Adams & his wife Genene of Fort Worth, Texas; sister Kelly Adams Salter & her husband John of Lewisville, Texas; niece Tamara Lundy of Clinton, Oklahoma; nephew Jason Lundy & great nephew Caleb Dean Lundy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and aunts, uncles, cousins, & many dear friends.
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 8th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Clinton Cemetery in Clinton, Oklahoma with her cousins, Rev. Jim Shepherd and Don Summit, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those who desire make a contribution in Tracie’s honor to the Haven Animal Rescue and Transport (H.A.R.T.) of Oklahoma.
