Wayland Conaley Adams, age 82, of Clinton, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on January 18, 2026, at Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford, Oklahoma, surrounded by his children and wife of sixty-two years.

Born on October 10, 1943, in Lamesa, Texas, Wayland was the son of Winston and Mildred (Beaird) Adams. He attended both grade school and middle school in Lamesa and Welch, Texas, before moving to Colony, OK, where he completed his education and graduated high school in 1962. On April 12, 1963, he married his high school sweetheart, Ann Crissman, in Hydro, Oklahoma.

Following his graduation, Wayland pursued a degree in Medical Technology from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He dedicated thirty-seven years of service to the Clinton Regional Hospital, where he made a lasting impact in his field.

Wayland had many passions and hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life. He was an avid taxidermist and a proud member of the Oklahoma Taxidermy Association. His love for the outdoors shone through in his passion for fishing and hunting various game, including deer, quail, elk, and pheasant. He cherished the time spent playing cards with friends and enjoyed summer RV trips to Colorado with family and friends. His dedication to family extended to his grandchildren, as he treasured attending their activities and sharing adventures in fishing and hunting. He served as a Boy Scout troop leader, instilling values and skills in the young men he guided.

Wayland accepted Jesus as his savior as a child in Lamesa, Texas. A pillar of faith in his community, Wayland was an active member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Clinton. His devotion to his church spanned over forty-five years, reflecting his deep commitment to his beliefs and community.

He is survived by his wife, of the home, Ann Adams; sons, Bryan Adams and wife Judith of Sand Springs, OK, Greg Adams and wife Lori of Clinton; daughter, Deidre Hunt and husband Michael of Weatherford; grandchildren, Jacey Smallwood and husband Shawn, Britton Adams and wife Katy, Conley Adams and wife Kiley, Colten Adams, Allison Sinor and husband Josh, Dylan Hunt and Riley Hunt; great grandchildren, Brylin, Tinsley and Hattie Smallwood, Cooper and Kami Adams.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Winston and Mildred Adams.

Wayland will be remembered for his warm spirit, love for family, and dedication to his community. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 23, 2026, at the First Baptist Church, 900 Frisco Ave., Clinton, OK 73601. Burial will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
